Hello readers of Phillies Network. I’m Kevin Durso, and I run and write for Phillies Network, a site I started in 2009 as a hobby for my love of writing and the Phillies. With aspirations to become a sportswriter in the future, I am using this site as a way to better my writing ability, while providing information about the Phillies to everyone.
I’ve loved all Philadelphia sports for as long as I can remember. I didn’t really follow the Phillies early in my life, and the history is something I read about now, and don’t remember. I couldn’t tell you what I thought about the 1993 World Series, but I still cringe everytime I see or hear Joe Carter’s name. After going to my final game in Veterans Stadium in 2003, I started watching the Phillies closer, and eventually became a crazed Phillies’ fan. 2008 was probably the best year of my life, especially in witnessing my first professional sports championship for a Philadelphia team. I now try to learn everything there is about the Phillies, and baseball in general, and use it in my writing. I enjoy sportswriting because it is of great interest to me, and is a topic that makes writing extremely easy to me. I hope that everyone who reads the site finds the articles informative, entertaining, and can become a bigger Phillies’ fan because of it.

Every Wednesday afternoon, I host a radio show on 89.1 WYBF-FM, Cabrini College‘s radio station, in Radnor, PA, called The Block Party from 2-4 p.m. This music-based show does feature some sports talk, where I chime in on everything Philly sports. You can follow the show on twitter @BlockPartyWYBF and on Facebook at The Block Party.
Every Wednesday night from 8-9 p.m. on 89.1 WYBF-FM, I am a panelist on a roundtable discussion show called Sports Source, where we review the week in the world of Philly and Cabrini sports. You can follow the show on twitter @WYBFSportSource and on Facebook at Sports Source. Check out our broadcast schedule for coverage of Cabrini sporting events. I am on the call for some of those games.
